Terms and Conditions
Effective date: May 10, 2026 · Last updated: May 10, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using the Rewright website located at https://rewright.app ("the Service," "the Platform," or "Rewright"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Rewright ("we," "us," or "our"). The Service is operated from the State of Utah, United States.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.
3. Description of Service
Rewright is an AI-powered writing tool designed to rewrite AI-generated text so that it reads more naturally and sounds more human-written. The Service provides two distinct processing modes:
Quick Fix Mode: A rule-based processing engine that identifies and corrects common patterns associated with AI-generated writing. This mode operates entirely on our servers using pattern-matching algorithms and does not rely on third-party artificial intelligence services. It is available only for English-language text.
Deep Rewrite Mode: An AI-powered rewriting engine that sends your text to third-party large language model (LLM) providers for processing. Currently, the Service uses OpenAI's GPT-4o model. We may also use Anthropic's Claude models in the future. When a provider change occurs, we will update this section of the Terms accordingly. Deep Rewrite mode supports multiple languages and offers tone selection and voice calibration features.
The Service also provides optional features including voice calibration (matching your personal writing style), tone selection (casual, formal, academic, simple, summarize, expand), downloadable output files, session-based rewrite history, and personal analytics dashboards.
4. User Accounts
Certain features of the Service require you to create an account. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, including a valid email address. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
You may create an account using an email address and password, or by authenticating through Google Sign-In. If you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name and email address from Google's OAuth 2.0 service. If a Rewright account already exists with the same email address, your Google account will be automatically linked to the existing account.
You must verify your email address by entering a one-time verification code (OTP) sent to the email address you provided. Unverified accounts are restricted from using the core rewriting features of the Service. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes.
5. Guest Access
The Service allows limited guest access without creating an account. Guest users may perform a limited number of free rewrites per day (currently 3 rewrites per 24-hour period). Guest usage is tracked by IP address on our servers. This limit resets daily based on the guest's local timezone as detected by their browser. We reserve the right to modify guest usage limits at any time without prior notice.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
(a) Submit text that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. The Service includes automated profanity filtering, and submissions containing flagged content will be rejected.
(b) Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with usage limits, rate limiting, security features, or other restrictions of the Service, including but not limited to guest usage limits, API rate limits, or input length restrictions.
(c) Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the Service, submit text, or extract data without our express written permission.
(d) Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or processing logic of the Service.
(e) Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the servers and networks connected to the Service.
(f) Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
(g) Use the Service to process text for the purpose of generating spam, phishing content, malware, or any other form of malicious or deceptive content.
The Service enforces rate limiting at multiple levels (burst, per-minute, hourly, and daily) to prevent abuse and ensure fair access for all users. Exceeding these limits will result in temporary access restrictions.
7. Text Processing and Data Handling
When you submit text for rewriting, your text is processed as follows:
Quick Fix Mode: Your text is processed entirely on our servers using our rule-based pattern engine. The text is held in memory during processing and is not permanently stored in our database. No third-party services receive your text in this mode.
Deep Rewrite Mode: Your text is sent to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI; potentially Anthropic in the future) via their secure APIs for processing. These providers process your text according to their own terms of service, privacy policies, and data handling practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers. We send only the text content necessary for rewriting. No personal identifying information (such as your username, email, or account details) is included in API requests to these providers.
In both modes, we log metadata about your rewrite requests for analytics and service improvement purposes. This metadata includes: the processing mode used, tone selected, detected language, input and output word counts, input character count, and timestamp. For guest users, we also log the IP address for usage tracking purposes. We do not permanently store the actual text content you submit for rewriting or the rewritten output in our database.
If you use the voice calibration feature, your writing sample is sent to the third-party AI provider along with the text to be rewritten. The writing sample is not permanently stored on our servers.
8. Intellectual Property
You retain full ownership of any text you submit to the Service for processing. The rewritten output generated by the Service is provided to you without restriction on use, and you may use, modify, publish, or distribute the output as you see fit.
The Service itself, including but not limited to its design, user interface, source code, algorithms, branding, logos, graphics, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Rewright and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
All trademarks, service marks, and trade names used in connection with the Service are the property of their respective owners.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant or represent that:
(a) The rewritten text produced by the Service will be undetectable as AI-generated by any AI detection tool or service.
(b) The rewritten output will be factually accurate, grammatically perfect, or free from errors.
(c) The Service will be suitable for any specific purpose, including but not limited to academic submissions, professional publications, or regulatory compliance.
(d) The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
(e) The results obtained from the use of the Service will be accurate or reliable.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any output generated by the Service before using it for any purpose. You assume all risk associated with the use of rewritten text.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL REWRIGHT, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rewright, its operators, affiliates, and contributors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of or access to the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of any third party, including intellectual property rights; or (d) any content you submit to the Service.
11. Account Restriction and Termination
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to restrict, suspend, or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to: violation of these Terms, abuse of the Service, disruptive behavior, or activity that we believe may expose us or other users to liability.
You may delete your account at any time through your profile page. Upon account deletion, your personal data (username, email, name) will be permanently removed from our systems. Anonymized usage logs and metadata may be retained for aggregate analytics purposes.
Restricted accounts remain in our system but cannot log in or access the Service. Account data is preserved during restriction and can be restored if the restriction is lifted by an administrator.
